Good morning, Pedro. Could you tell us a few words about yourself?
I was born in Manila. I graduated from the University of the Philippines in 1975 and met my future wife Julia there. I worked as an orthopedist until 2009.
What happened in 2009 and why did you leave your job?
In 2007, Julia was diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis. It was a turning point in our lives and felt like a terrible ordeal. Nothing helped her, and we were both devastated. I couldn't believe there was nothing I could do to help my wife, even with my medical background.
What research are you talking about? Could you tell us more?
When you realize your wife may not be able to walk in a few years, you want to do everything possible to prevent it. I studied all materials related to joint diseases—in physiology, psychosomatics, and biochemistry. I spent almost all my savings learning from the best specialists in Asia, who clearly understood the problems of patients with joint wear better than we did.
By December 2009, I realized that by combining certain ingredients, I could create a product that would relieve joint pain for good.
